Five FLVB coaches — Charel Hoffman, Jared Schubert, Nilton Leite, Serge Karier, and Yuri Pinheiro Madeira — attended the CEV Coaches Convention in Viana do Castelo, Portugal, from June 12–14, 2026, joining coaches from across Europe for professional development sessions.

Highlights included John Kessel (USA Volleyball) on youth development and game-based learning, and Mark Lebedew (Australia) sharing insights from both participation-level and high-performance coaching. A central theme was "Teaching Games for Understanding," focused on game-realistic training and helping athletes read play and make independent decisions. Rosana Krajnc (Slovenia) ran practical workshops on strength and physical development using minimal equipment.

Overall, the convention offered valuable networking and knowledge-sharing that will help advance coaching standards within the FLVB community.
