Luxembourg, October 23, 2010. The very first Press Officers’ Seminar organized by CEV and specifically addressed to all National Federations was staged today at the NH Hotel in Luxembourg City with a total of 31 delegates – representing 29 different countries – in attendance. The seminar was placed under the guidance of CEV Press Officer Federico Ferraro and was actually an absolute premiere on the international arena, with CEV being the only Continental Confederation so far having staged that kind of clinic. The seminar is the outcome of an innovative initiative that was launched already last year by the CEV Board of Administration, with the full support of CEV President André Meyer, to strengthen and improve the daily communication flow with all affiliated National Federations.
The participants had the chance to get acquainted with the CEV communication activities and strategy, were provided with additional guidelines to feed regularly both the CEV and FIVB websites with captivating and attractive stories, but also actively joined an open discussion to share their ideas for strengthening the interaction among all parties concerned and to long for an extensive promotion of Volleyball and Beach Volleyball across all media. Very much attention was also devoted to the work being currently in progress – and described by CEV Competitions Director Jean-Paul Rommes - to provide the European Volleyball Confederation with a new database as well as website that are likely to fire up a new era for CEV and Volleyball in Europe.
